According to the advice, the department has granted only NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited (NSDL e- Gov) and UTI Infrastructure Technologies the authority to process PAN applications. Other than these two entities, no one else has the authority to carry out processes on their behalf.

The agency has also reminded applicants that the department is not liable if they lose money due to applying for a PAN card through any fraudulent websites. "PAN applicants using NSDL e-online Gov's services are at this moment advised to ensure that they use the abovementioned online facility of NSDL e-Gov exclusively through the URL above and pay the application processing cost as required by ITD," the advice stated.

It went on to say, "PAN candidates who use any prohibited URLs do so at their own risk and with their own repercussions." NSDL e- Gov will not be accountable for any loss or damage that PAN applicants may experience or incur directly or indirectly when engaging with such unlawful individuals/entities and persons/officers/directors/staff linked with such organizations."
